The New Palestine girls golf team improved to 2-0 on the season with a solid dual meet victory against Greenwood 179-206 on Tuesday.

Dragons’ sophomore Annaliese Fox led the team for a third straight meet, firing a 2-under par 34 at Hawk’s Tail of Greenfield. She earned medalist honors behind four birdies.

Senior Mackenzi Black shot a 38. Izzy Gray added a 53, while Regina Olsen carded a 54 to seal the win.

The Dragons return to the course today at Noblesville.

Eastern Hancock falls against North Decatur

The Eastern Hancock girls golf team turned in two sub-60 scores Tuesday, but North Decatur’s lead golfer shot a 39 to hand the Royals the loss 225-237.

Royals sophomore Lucy Cochard paced Eastern Hancock’s lineup with a 54. Jocelyn Duncan followed with a 57.

Both Daly Pelger and Chloe O’Neal shot 63s, while Isabella Parker had a 64.

Duncan was named the player of the match for Eastern Hancock after improving by 10 strokes over her first match score of 67 against Wapahani.

Marauders take second place in three-way match

The Mt. Vernon girls golf team upended Lawrence Central but fell eight strokes behind Beech Grove in a three-way meet Tuesday.

The Marauders shot a combined 218 to take second. Beech Grove won the event with a 210. Lawrence Central was third with a 221.
