To the editor:
Andrea Neal’s column, “Cautionary tales,” (July 20, A6) was completely on the mark. We have seen a headlong rush into the legalization of cannabis.
I believe science proves there are uses for hemp and, perhaps, cannabis that are a benefit to people. I also believe science proves there are many ways the use of cannabis is harmful. And Ms. Neal outlines the harm cannabis can do quite ably.
I believe the science is clear on both counts. Marijuana can be both helpful and harmful, depending on how it is used. We must use our heads in figuring out the differences.
