Lorrie A. Pugh, 56, of Columbia City, died Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Parkview Whitley Hospital.

Born April 8, 1961 in Marquette, Michigan a daughter of William and Barbara (Aloisio) Crossley. Her formative years were spent in Greenfield, Indiana where she graduated from Greenfield Central High School in 1979. She continued her education at Clark College, Indianapolis receiving an associate’s degree in accounting.

On September 26, 1981 she was united in marriage to Brian R. Pugh. They made their home in Oklahoma

until 1987 when they moved to Columbia City.

She worked for Peoples Federal Savings Bank in Columbia City for 8 years and then joined North

American Van Lines, Fort Wayne then Mayflower where she became a logistics coordinator scheduling

flatbed truck movements throughout the U.S. She had 20 years of service.

Family was the priority in her life raising her 3 boys. She was a former Cub Scout leader, a member of the

Show Choir Parents Organization and the former First Presbyterian Church where she was deacon and

choir member. An exceptional baker, her cookies and cakes were cherished by all. Always welcoming,

her house was the gathering place for her sons’ friends. She enjoyed keeping her house decorated with the

season. In later years, she loved the casino getaways with her husband.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Brian; 3 sons, Benjamin L. Pugh, Elmer Matthew (Rachel)

Pugh, both of Columbia City and Michael L. Pugh, Decatur, GA; her parents, Barbara Strubbe, Greenfield

and William F. (Linda) Crossley, Pendleton; a brother, William Crossley, Columbia City and a sister,

Jennifer (Harold) Smith, Huntington.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.

The visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial may be made to Cancer Services of NE Indiana in Lorrie’s honor.
