Ruth Virginia (Bohall) Tuttle, age 96, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday July 22, 2017 at Community North Hospital. She was born on August 10, 1920 as the daughter of John S. Bohall and Edna E (Ginder) Bohall. Ruth married John “Tuck” T. Tuttle on November 4, 1939 in Noblesville, Indiana.

She worked for the Old Fortville Ice Cream Store, was a lunch lady for Fortville and Mt. Vernon School systems and retired from Westminster Village North. Ruth was a homemaker and loved to do handmade quilting. She was also a lifetime member of the Fortville United Methodist Church and Sisterhood & Brotherhood.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Larry L. Tuttle of Fortville and Gary A. Tuttle of Greenfield; daughter, Lana G. (Joe) Poskey of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Carrie, Mike, Mark, Jeff, and Amy; four great-grandchildren, Danielle, Tyler, Cory, and a baby girl due in the fall; five great-great-grandchildren, Albri, Chase, Saphira, Donovan, and Ryker; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Tuck” T. Tuttle; sisters, Mary Trueblood, Sarilda Hooper, Lusania “Toots” Husted, Elsie Freeman, Laura Short, Mildred Hibbs, Ann Kendrex, and Jean Cross; brother, John Bohall; and daughter-in-law, Lana (Gulley) Tuttle.

Calling will be held on Tuesday July 25, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 124 E. Staat Street, Fortville, IN 46040. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Joe Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Lawn Cemetery in Fortville.
