Memorial 100-lap Figure 8 tonight at Speedrome

The original icon of Figure 8 racing will be celebrated tonight at the Indianapolis Speedrome. Sonny Thompson was the measuring stick for generations of crossover competitors in the Late Model division. That class takes center stage tonight in a 100-lap feature.

The night also includes action from the Stocks, Lawrence Towing Factory Front Wheel Drives, and Circle City Pyrotechnics Junior Faskarts. Plus, we see the 2017 Hall of Fame induction of the legendary Charlie Reed.

The Speedrome Hall of Fame was created in 1982 to honor Sonny Thompson as its original inductee. Since then, 37 men, three women, and one entire class of racecars have been selected for this special recognition.

Tickets for tonight are $10. Military, first responders, and senior tickets are $8. Children ages 9-12 are $5 with those under 9 free. Spectator gates will open at 4:30 p.m. when practice begins. Racing starts at 7 p.m.
