MT. COMFORT — A new pastor has arrived at Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church of the Risen Christ and delivered his first sermon there July 9.
The Rev. Alex N. Stone and his wife, Carla, were introduced to the congregation July 2.
Stone comes to Mt. Comfort with more than 22 years of ministry experience in the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church. Most recently, he served at Hammond Woodmar for eight years. He has served churches in northwest Indiana for the last 15 years.
While finishing his master of divinity degree from Christian Theological Seminary, Stone served a two-point charge at Markleville United Methodist Church and Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church in Pendleton.
Originally from Elkhart, the Stones have three grown children and one grandchild. Currently, they share their home with three dogs — a Chihuahua, a Golden Retriever mix and a Great Dane.
The church is located at 3179 N. County Road 600W, Greenfield.
