E. Elaine Alderfer, 70, of Greenfield, and formerly of northern Fulton County, Ind. passed Sunday, July 16, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospital of Greenfield. Born on December 15, 1946, in Rochester, Ind. to Louis E. and Louise E. (Windbigler) Kelly.
She married on August 7, 1966, at the Walnut Gospel Church in Argos, Ind. to Roger L. Alderfer, who survives. She had worked for the former Torin/Brookside Corporation in Rochester, Ind. She was a graduate of Mentone High School in 1966. She was a Master Gardener and was a member of the Herb Society.
Survivors include her husband Roger Alderfer; siblings, Patricia Johnson of Rochester, IN, Mary Downs of Houlton, ME, Barbara (Kenny Michael) Widner of Logansport, IN, Paul Kelly of Anaheim, CA, N. Jean (David B.) Kelly of Elkhart, IN, M. Janet Kelly of Evanston, IL, James (Deb) Kelly of Rochester, IN, Evelyn (Tim) Barton, Mentone, IN, Douglas Kelly of Warsaw, IN, and Brian Kelly and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. on Friday, July 21, at King Memorial Home, Mentone, IN. Services will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 21 at the funeral home with Rev. Dale Doran, who married Elaine and Roger 50 years ago, officiating. Burial will follow at Richland Center Cemetery, Rochester, IN.Memorial
