Historical Society hosts button presentation

GREENFIELD — The Hancock Co. Historical Society will host an event for button collectors from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Chapel in the Park, 28 Apple St. Pat Cooper, President of the Indiana State Button Society and Hancock County resident, will provide information on the history of buttons, how to start a collection, creating a button chain and how to display buttons professionally. This event is free, but donations are greatly appreciated.

Knitting, crocheting group meets every other week

GREENFIELD – Adults and teens are invited to join in a knitting and crocheting group that meets at 6:30 p.m. July 13 at the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road. Participants should bring their own supplies. Experienced crafters offer advice to beginners. The group is led by Joy Summers. Call the library at 317-462-5141 for more information.

Greenfield Parks & Rec offers chess club

GREENFIELD – The chess club meets weekly from 10 a.m. until noon Thursdays at the Patricia Elmore Center, 280 Apple St. This event is free and open to all ages. Participants should bring their own chess board and pieces. Register at greenfieldin.org.
