Library offers instruction on the secrets of coding for teens

GREENFIELD – Teens in Grade 6 through age 19 are invited to follow in the footsteps of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg for a workshop in computer coding. Dulcimer classes looking for new senior students

GREENFIELD – Seniors age 55 and older are welcome to attend the Dulcimer Connection class on Thursdays at the Patricia Elmore Center, 280 Apple St. Beginners meet from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., and the advanced group meets from 1 to 3 p.m. The class is free. Call 317-477-4343 for more information.

Civil War-themed camp teaches history and leadership

INDIANAPOLIS — Children ages 9 through 12 are called to enlist in the Union Army under the command of Colonel Benjamin Harrison as part of the Civil War Youth Leadership Camp at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, 1230 N. Delaware St. From July 17 through 21, under the guidance of the museum’s education team and Civil War experts, children will enlist, drill and train to become leaders, soldiers and better citizens. Camp staff will use real stories and experiences of Col. Harrison during the Civil War.
