Richard A. Marks Sr.

Richard A. Marks Sr., 70 of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born on May 23, 1947, in Greenfield.

Richard spent nearly 31 years in the Army National Guard until his retirement. He married the love of his life, Vania (Wilson) Marks on May 9, 1968. Richard was the owner of R.A. Marks Gunsmithing in Greenfield and was also a school bus driver for the Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation. He was a member of numerous clubs and organizations and enjoyed woodcarving, and acting as Santa Clause during the Christmas season at many social events.

Surviving Richard is his wife, Vania Marks of Greenfield; son, Richard Marks Jr. of Indianapolis; brothers, Billy Curry, Jerry Marks, Ricky Mays; and sisters, Mary Anderson, Sandra Bundy, Jane Hatcher, Kim Langston, and Darla Roberts.

Preceding Richard in death is his mother, Louise Marks; brothers, Jackie Marks, Robert Mays; and sister, Betty “Darlene” Morris.

Friends may visit from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W. Main St, Greenfield. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2017, at the funeral home with military honors presented by the Army National Guard.
