GREENFIELD — More than 200 local high school students and their coaches or sponsors volunteered May 19 for the third-annual Take Pride in GC Day.

Greenfield-Central High School students hand-washed the gymnasium and connecting hallways. Outdoors, they spread rock, picked up trash across campus, planted flowers, pulled weeds and swept curbs, all to get the campus ready for visitors on graduation weekend.

The school’s Interact Club organizes the event each year and works alongside about a dozen other clubs and sports teams to get the school sparkling.

As a thank-you, members of the high school administration cooked for the workers. Plans are underway to raise money for next year’s projects. To donate, contact sponsor ConnieJo Harris at 317-462-9195, ext. 2.
