Graduates earn honors, degrees

HANCOCK COUNTY — Chelsea Haines of Greenfield recently earned a master of science in education degree from the University of Kansas. Commencement ceremonies took place May 14 in Lawrence, Kansas.

More than 1,000 Trine University students earned degrees and were recognized at the university’s commencement ceremony May 13 including: Zachary Bailey, Greenfield, who earned a degree in mechanical engineering; Devan Furr, New Palestine, who earned a degree in business administration; Chase Hardebeck, New Palestine, who earned a degree in design engineering technology; Chase Harker, Greenfield, who earned a degree in design engineering technology; Jordan Miller, McCordsville, who earned a degree in design engineering technology; Evan Poole, New Palestine, who earned a degree in mechanical engineering; and John Schmitt, Greenfield was awarded a degree in design engineering technology. Trine University is an internationally recognized, private, co-educational, residential institution in Angola.

Another local student, Josiah Ward, Greenfield, was named to the Trine University president’s list. Ward, an electrical engineering major, completed a minimum of 15 hours of class credit and earned a grade point average of 3.75 or higher.

New Palestine’s Lauren Foley, recently earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of San Diego. Foley earned a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and graduated cum laude.
