GREENFIELD — A veterans’ assistance group is slated to meet this weekend.

Stand Down 17 will meet from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Elks Lodge 1720, at 820 S. State St.

Veterans will have the opportunity for computer training and assistance on Veteran’s Administration websites, and a VA-certified attorney will be available for legal questions and guidance. Hancock County veterans service officer Bob Workman will be available to discuss veterans’ benefits. A representative from Disabled American Veterans will also be present for any veterans who need the services of the organization.

The Elks open their lodge the second Saturday of every month as a gathering place for veterans.
