GREENFIELD — A Greenfield woman faces charges of neglect and battery amid accusations she showed up at the local Walmart, drunk, with a young child in tow.

Walmart employees called 911 earlier this month after finding Andrea Cecil, 35, 1204 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield, sitting on the floor in the produce area of the store, crying, according to court documents. A young child was with her at the time, police said.

Cecil grew violent as medics loaded her into ambulance and tried to hit, pinch and kick staff at Hancock Regional Hospital, where she was taken for an evaluation, police said.

Court documents state that at the time of the incident Cecil had a blood-alcohol content of 0.216 percent — more than twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

She was arrested last week and appeared Friday in court, where she pleaded not guilty to the charges.
