The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

April 18

Wings, Etc. Grill and Pub

Location: 1925 Melody Lane, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: NC — clean outside/inside of containers holding clean utensils/wrapped buns, corrected; C — food contact surfaces of utensils, hot holding covers need to be clean to sight and touch, corrected; NC — clean food debris from black cartons under hand sink by walk-in cooler in kitchen, to be corrected by Aug. 1.

April 25

The Grill 2

Location: 6621 W. Broadway St., McCordsville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R — drawers under grill holding cheese, chicken, hamburger are not maintaining food temperature of 41 degrees or below, to be corrected by April 26; C — employers need to be aware of what they are touching when wearing food handling gloves, corrected; NC — need more light — repair/replace light rods, to be corrected by Aug. 1; NC — clean floors in corners/under equipment, to be corrected by August 1; NC/R – knives need to be clean before putting on magnetic strip, magnetic strip must be clean, corrected; NC — need to clean dish storage shelf, outsides of equipment and coverings of fans in walk-in cooler, to be corrected by Aug. 1.

April 26

O’Charley’s

Location: 1993 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R — reach-in line cooler holding slaw/sour cream too warm, corrected/product iced; NC — spoons need to be dispensed handles up in waitress area, to be corrected by Aug. 1.

Kingen Gun Club

Location: 5112 W. County Road 500N, McCordsville

Type of Inspection: Routine

Location: 1993 N. State St., Greenfield

April 28

Montana Mike’s

Location: 1945 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R — dish machine is not reaching proper sanitizing temperature, corrected; NC — clean repair knife magnetic strips so no food debris or rust.

Dave’s Meat Market

Location: 333 S. State St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations found: C/R — dripping water in meat/deli case, corrected; NC/R — clean floors under equipment in corners, along edges, in walk-in cooler and in meat-cutting room, to be corrected by Aug. 1; NC/R — repair three-compartment sink faucet so it does not leak, to be corrected by Aug. 1; NC/R — repair ceiling in meat-cutting room so not flaking off, to be corrected by Aug. 1; repair gap under back door, to be corrected by Aug. 1; C — employees need to be trained as to when to wash hands/change gloves, corrected; C — food contact surfaces such as utensils or containers holding deli meats/cheeses need to be washed every four hours if not in cooler, to be corrected by May 2.

Ro’s Bar & Grill

Location: 1514 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of inspection: Routine

Violations found: C — use of a common towel in prohibited for drying hands, corrected; C — sour cream, raw meats, etc. must be held at 41 degrees or lower, need to have ice go up the sides of pans or return to refrigeration, corrected; NC — soup spoons should be stored handle up to prevent contamination of lip contact surface, corrected; NC/R — lights that are not working need to be replaced/repaired, to be corrected by July 1.
