Rose Mary (Carrier) Westra
Rose Mary (Carrier) Westra, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Springhurst Health Campus, Greenfield. Born on February 11, 1927, in Indianapolis, as the daughter of William and Elsie (Bradburn) Carrier.
She graduated from Franklin Township High School in 1945. Rose Mary married Herman K. Westra on October 10, 1948.
She worked as the owner of a private Indianapolis Star Distributorship for many years. Rose Mary was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Beech Grove, and the Buck Creek Christian Church. She loved traveling, camping, her home, playing euchre, animal shows, and bird watching.
She is survived by her sons, Mark J. (Alora) Westra of Greenfield, and Steven K. (Debra) Westra of Villa Grove, Co.; brother, William Carrier of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandchildren, Jason Perry and Jarrod Perry; two great-grandchildren; special niece and nephew, Carolyn Osterman and Bill Carrier, and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held immediately following. Reverend Larry Manship will be officiating. Burial will follow at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Wanamaker, Ind.
