Louise Jacobs

Louise Jacobs, 78, a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, due a fall related traumatic brain injury. She was born on February 23, 1939, in Cedar Hill, Tenn.

Louise had a passion for learning and creativity. She studied business administration in her younger years and she served as an executive assistant for the State of Indiana for several years. She also realized success as a licensed real estate broker. Her love of learning led her to matriculate at IUPUI where she completed three years of higher education and was on the Dean’s List often.

Louise had a love of collecting and creating beautiful porcelain dolls and her artistry was second to none. She demonstrated a mastery of crochet and she was a woodworking enthusiast.

Louise will be forever loved by her son, Louis W. Reed, Jr. (Robin) and her daughter, Kelly L. Reed, M.D. Her only grandchild, Lindsey Adelle Zecherle, was the the brightest light in her life. Lindsey wrote, “She had been such a ray of sunshine throughout my life, and I will miss her terribly. Grandma, I love you, and have fun with all the other angels.” Louise will also be forever remembered by her siblings, Lucy Cox (J.C.) and Kay Knight. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luster Knight and Lena Knight (Haigdon); as well as her other siblings, Virgil, Maudie, William, JoAnn “Shirley”, John and James.

A Memorial Service will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, at Erlewein Mortuary, 1484 W. US Highway 40, Greenfield IN. Interment will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, at Washington Park Cemetery East, 10612 E. Washington St, Indianapolis, IN
