Ronnie L. Yager
Ronnie L. Yager, 65, of Greenfield, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospital. Born on March 18, 1952, in Indianapolis as the son of James and Edna B. (Gaines) Yager.
He graduated from Howe High School and received his Associates in Heating and Air Conditioning from Ivy Tech Community College. He served in the Air Force during 1970-1974. Ronnie married Angel (Wynn) on July 2, 1977 in Indianapolis.
Ronnie retired, after 42 years, from Indianapolis Public Schools. He was a Group Lead and Foreman for the Steam Fitters Department. Ronnie enjoyed golfing at his favorite course, Royal Hylands. He was an avid IU fan and loved watching college basketball.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Angel Yager of Greenfield; children, Justin (Amy Strasburger) Yager, Elaina (John) Whiteside, Emily (Derek) Golob and Jonathon Yager all of Greenfield; brothers, Milford Gene Yager, Richard Naylor and James Yager, Jr. all of Indianapolis; sister, Darlene Bray of Scottsville, KY; and six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Will, Jenna, John Jr., Owen and Caroline. He was also blessed with several nephews and nieces. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, William Yager.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 30, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A celebration of life will take place immediately following the visitation. During this time, the family has requested that you come and share your memories of Ronnie. At the conclusion of the celebration of life, the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard will perform military honors.
