Sara Ann Sitton
Sara Ann Sitton, 68, of Homer, passed away May 18, 2017. She was born in Rushville, April 13, 1949, to the late Robert L. and Martha Mae Cooper, her mother survives.
The Coopers moved to Hancock County where Sara graduated from Eastern Hancock High School in 1967.
Sara met the love of her life, Jerry Sitton, and they married in Wilkinson, August 1967, and started their lives together. She had three children, Candi, Monte and Christopher and was a stay home mother for several years. In 1972, Sara and family moved to Utica, New York for a short stay.
In 1973, Sara and family moved to Rush County where she managed the Sexton Restaurant before working for Marsh Super Markets where she retired after 30 some years when Marsh closed the Rushville Store.
Sara loved her family and friends and enjoyed being with her grandkids and would do anything for them. She was a member of the Nameless Creek Literary Club, Homer Federated Church and Samaritan Guild.
Sara is survived by her husband, Jerry Sitton of Homer; mother, Martha Mae Cooper of Greenfield; sister, Patricia Chapman of Denver Co.; brother, Tom (Pat) Cooper of Greenfield; children, Candi Tillison and Monte Sitton both of Homer, Christopher (Mary) Sitton of Shelbyville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, May 22, at Todd Funeral Centre in Rushville with Rev. Roger Abraham. Friends may call Monday after 11 a.m.
