Maxine F. Wolf
Maxine F. (James) Wolf, 87, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017, at Springhurst Health Campus. She was born on August 8, 1929, in Hancock County, as the daughter of Emert and Delia (Schildmeir) James.
She graduated from New Palestine High School in 1947. She married Victor D. on February 24, 1952.
She worked as a library assistant at Brandywine Elementary for 15 years. Maxine was a lifelong member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church. She was also a member of St. Joseph Social Club of Shelbyville, Red Hat Society and Eden Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years. She loved gardening and being involved in her sorority, Psi Iota Xi Auxiliary.
Maxine is survived by her son, Mike (Audrey) Wolf of Greenfield; and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Christopher, and Brandon all of Greenfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Lisa Glass; and sister, Faye Warner.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, at the mortuary. Reverend Janet Tiebert will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 2265 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140 or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
