MCCORDSVILLE — A McCordsville man faces a felony charge amid allegations he downloaded child pornography onto his computer, police say.

David Glotfelty, 27, 8872 Coldwater Circle, McCordsville, faces a single Level 5 felony count of possession of child pornography, records show. He was arrested Thursday and has been released from the Hancock County Jail on bond.

Officers with the Carmel Police Department tracked Glotfelty down, and searched his McCordsville home earlier this month, officials said.

During a conversation with police, the man admitted that for the last year he had been downloading inappropriate videos of children and watching them, according to court documents.

Glotfelty told investigators he’d searched the internet for the videos and downloaded them onto his laptop using a file sharing program, according to court documents.

Investigators found dozens of videos on Glotfelty’s laptop, court documents state.

The Level 5 felony count Glotfelty faces carries a maximum penalty of six years in prison.
