Race fans: Worship on Saturday night

GREENFIELD — Trinity Park United Methodist Church will offer a service at 5:30 p.m. May 27 for race fans who will be at the Indianapolis 500 the next day, or others who find that time slot beneficial. Everyone is welcome. Casual attire is fine. The church is located at 207 W. Park Ave.

New Pal baccalaureate service scheduled

NEW PALESTINE — The annual baccalaureate service honoring graduating seniors is set for 7 p.m. Thursday in the New Palestine High School auditorium.

The public is invited to participate in the non-denominational community service sponsored by area churches.

Several clergy and lay people participate in the planning of the evening.

This year Josh Hahn, senior minister at The Fountain Christian Church in Fountaintown, will deliver the message.

A baccalaureate service is a religious farewell and blessing to the graduating senior class, honoring them in prayer and celebrating their achievements.

The student-led worship service offers choral and solo music, and testimony.

Music, drama set for Morristown

MORRISTOWN — A music and drama team from Pensacola (Florida) Christian College will visit Faith Baptist Church, 323 S. Washington, for a service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Meal, music coming to McCordsville

McCORDSVILLE — McCordsville United Methodist Church has several community events coming up.

Annual fish fry raises funds for missions

GREENFIELD — Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church will serve its annual fish fry from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at the church, 3447 S. State Road 9.

The menu will include fish, French fries, hush puppies, baked beans, slaw, desserts and beverages. Hot dogs and carry-out also will be available. Donations will be accepted, with proceeds used for missions.

Guest singer set for Mt. Lebanon service

GREENFIELD — Lynn Cherry will sing in the service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3447 S. State Road 9.

Cherry grew up singing with her family from church to church in South Carolina and surrounding states. She has a doctorate in education from South Carolina State University and taught public school for 10 years and college for two years.

She entertains seniors with various genres of music at nursing homes throughout the area.
