Ronald E. Cleary
Ronald E. Cleary, 75, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Community Hospital North. He was born on September 11, 1941, in Beech Grove as the son of Thomas J. and Mildred D. (Newborn) Cleary.
He served in the Marines from 1959-1963. Ronald married Shirley May (Zimmerman) on October 8, 1965, in Indianapolis.
He worked for Service Engineering Inc. for 45 years as a foreman before retiring in 2009. He loved working on, collecting and trading cars, fishing, and his dog, Molly. He was a wonderful man who enjoyed the simple life.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Shirley Cleary of Greenfield; sister, Judy Wilson of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Bethany (Aaron) Patton of Greenfield and Jacob Hensley of Haymarket, Va.; great-granddaughter, Naomi Patton; and several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Lisa Hensley.
Celebration of life gathering will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, May 19, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A celebration of life service will take place immediately following the gathering at 10 a.m. Pastor John Nichols will be officiating.
