The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Type of Inspection: Routine
Violations found: C – sanitizing solution too low, corrected; NC/R — repair/replace light rods that are not working in freezer, to be corrected by July 1; NC/R – repair wall behind three-compartment sink so gaps are sealed, smooth, cleanable and non-absorbent, repair/replace freezer flooring near door, to be corrected by July 1.
Firehouse Subs
Location: 22. E. McClarnon Drive, Greenfield
Type of Inspection: Routine
Violations found: NC — leaking faucet at three-compartment sink, to be corrected by August 1; C — be aware of what employees are touching with gloves on such as clothing — do not put hands into pockets, pull up pants, etc., corrected.
Comfort Inn
Location: 178 Martindale Drive, Greenfield
Type of Inspection: Routine
Violations found: NC/R — ware washing sink should not be used as hand sink in back food prep area, to be corrected by Oct. 1.

Violations found: NC — hand soap at hand washing sink by office and walk-in chicken cooler not working properly, corrected; NC — repair/replace tiles on floor by/under fryer, to be corrected by August 1.

Hancock County Jail – Trinity Services Group
Location: 123 E. Main St., Greenfield
Type of Inspection: Routine
Violations found: C – expired food handler certification, to be corrected by August 1; C – unmarked spray bottles with chemical, corrected.
Mom & Pop’s Grocery
Location: 203 S. Main St., Maxwell
Type of Inspection: Routine
Violations found: NC/R – clean outside of equipment, floors, under equipment so free of debris, to be corrected by Aug. 1.
