Local summer meal program begins May 30

GREENFIELD – Greenfield-Central School Corp.’s summer meal program for Hancock County children is getting ready to kick off.

Beginning May 30, children 18 years and younger — and adults enrolled in a state-approved education program for the mentally or physically disabled — may eat breakfast and lunch for free at three sites across Greenfield.

Meals will be served on weekdays through Aug. 1.

Locations and times are as follows:

  • The Boys and Girls Clubs of Hancock County, 715 E. Lincoln St., Greenfield, will serve breakfast and lunch May 30 through June 21, except for on July 3 and July 4. Breakfast is served from 7 to 8 a.m., and lunch is available from 11 a.m. to noon.
  • Greenfield-Central High School, 810 N. Broadway St., Greenfield (enter through door 14), will serve breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Meals will be served every weekday from May 30 to Aug. 1 except for July 4.
  • Harris Elementary, 200 W. Park St., Greenfield, will serve breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every weekday between May 30 and Aug. 1. The location is closed July 4.
