Alan Rae Stoker, Sr.

Alan Rae Stoker, Sr., 71, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017. He was born on April 30, 1946, in New Castle, as the son of Charles Arthur and Florence May (Beavers) Stoker.

He graduated from Blue River High School. He served in the Army for 20 years during the Korean War.

He worked for the State Highway Department as a diesel mechanic for 15 years. He was a member of the Greenfield VFW, Greenfield American Legion, 30/8 Club and Greenfield Veteran Honor Guard.

Alan is survived by children, Brenda Kay Dustin of Georgia, Alan R. Stoker, Jr. of New Castle and Charles N. Stoker of Greenfield; siblings, Martha May Luellen of New Castle and Linda Kay Kraus of Noblesville; former wife, Claire Stoker; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie “Alice” Mae Stoker Criswell; and two brothers-in-law, John Kraus and Donald Luellen.

Visitation will be conducted from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, at Mt. Summit Cemetery, 625 US-36, New Castle, IN 47362. Pastor Frank Woods will be officiating. Military rites will be presented by the Greenfield Veterans Honor Guard.
