CUMBERLAND – Indiana Landmarks has received $7,175 in three days since starting a crowdfunding campaign to save the century-old church at the corner of German Church Road and Washington Street. Some $30,825 more is required to prevent the structure’s demolition.

Earlier this month, the town of Cumberland was given until May 4 to raise a total of $75,000 to cover ongoing upkeep of the church. Supporters may contribute to the effort by visiting IndianaLandmarks.org/donate and writing “Save German Church” in the comment field. If the effort fails, the tax-deductible pledges will be returned to donors.
