Fundraising campaign ongoing to save church

CUMBERLAND – Indiana Landmarks has received $7,175 in three days since starting a crowdfunding campaign to save the century-old church at the corner of German Church Road and Washington Street. Some $30,825 more is required to prevent the structure’s demolition.

Earlier this month, the town of Cumberland was given until May 4 to raise a total of $75,000 to cover ongoing upkeep of the church. Supporters may contribute to the effort by visiting and writing “Save German Church” in the comment field. If the effort fails, the tax-deductible pledges will be returned to donors.
