Police investigate threats at area school

FORTVILLE — Fortville police officers will be on hand at Mt. Vernon High School buildings today amid an investigation into threats made against students.

School officials fielded reports from students across the district Wednesday about comments on social media.

Investigators said Wednesday they were still trying to verify specific claims made and declined to release any other information about the alleged threats.

Police were working with corporation administrators at press time to identify “a person of interest,” according to a news release.

No other information was immediately available.
