HANCOCK COUNTY — A retired teachers’ group recently learned about a nonprofit organization providing diverse types of aid to members of the community.

At the most recent Hancock County Retired Teachers Association meeting, president Karen Lee introduced guest speaker Jim Peters, outgoing director of Love In the Name of Christ of Greater Hancock County, discussed the church-based community program. Love, INC. provides resources for help including crisis child care, clothing and shoes, food resources, furniture, household items, hygiene items, money management, wheelchair ramp construction, property care and more.

Member Susan Geesa provided samples and took orders for the new association shirts. Members should continue to contact her to place orders. Social chairman Helene Andrews presented members with a special holiday treat to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

The next meeting will be at 11 a.m. May 10 at the Greenfield Ponderosa restaurant, 1585 N. State St. All retired teachers in Hancock County are welcome.
