Norvin Lee Gullion, 83, of New Palestine, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospice. He was born on April 10, 1933, as the son of Russell Gullion and Marie (McKenzie) Gullion.

He graduated from Rising Sun High School in Rising Sun, Ind., in 1951. He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1953 until 1955. He married Kathryn Jean (Schwanholt) in Dillsboro, Ind., on September 10, 1955.

He worked as a Research Technician for Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio, for 34 years before retiring in 1993. Mr. Gullion was an elder at St. John Lutheran Church in Aurora, Ind., for 20 years and was on the finance committee at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillsboro. He was also a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Indianapolis. After retirement, he also enjoyed driving disabled veterans to the Veterans Hospital.

Norvin is survived by his wife, Kathryn Jean Gullion of New Palestine; sons, Troy A. (Lisa) Gullion of New Palestine and Darrin E. (Ronda) Gullion of Indianapolis; brother, Morris Gullion of Manchester, Ind.; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Andrew, Mitchell, and Erica.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Marie Gullion; and brother, Billy Don Gullion.

Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 10, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, with one hour of viewing prior to the service at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 8115 Oaklandon Road, Indianapolis, IN 46236. Reverend John Sattler will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
