Local senior finalist in homecoming queen pageant

GREENFIELD — A senior at Greenfield-Central High School is climbing the ranks in a regional homecoming queen competition.

Laura Banton, daughter of Steve and Melinda Banton of Greenfield, has been selected as a finalist for the 37th annual Homecoming Queen Selection, which is slated for April 22 at the Louisville Airport Crowne Plaza Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky. She is the Greenfield-Central High School homecoming queen. If selected as the 2017 Indiana Homecoming Queen, she will receive a cash scholarship and an all-expense-paid trip to the National Finals to compete with homecoming queens from other states for America’s Homecoming Queen.
