Restaurant Inspections – April 1

The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually, and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations. The following inspections are based on information obtained from Retail Food Inspection Reports.

Chicago’s Pizza

Location: 1031 N. State St., Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – employee observed scratching/touching face and arm and then touching food, corrected; C – lunch meat and pasta for house-made salads must be date-marked, to be corrected by Feb. 16; C – dish machine sanitizing solution is testing low, corrected; C – sani-buckets too high, to be corrected by Feb. 16; NC – wiping cloths should be stored in sanitizing solution between uses, corrected; NC – need food thermometer available and used, to be corrected by May 1; NC/R – clean fans in walk-in cooler and cooler near salad bar, to be corrected by May 1.

Mozzi’s Pizza

Location: 5875 W. U.S. 40, Greenfield

Type of Inspection: Routine

Violations found: C – ice machine must be cleaned to protect ice from contamination, to be corrected by Feb. 16; NC/R – need to clean as frequently as needed to remove dust build-up of vent next to oven, exposed motor area of prep cooler, to be corrected by May 1.
