Richard L. Johnson, 90, of Charlottesville, died on Monday, March 20, 2017, at his residence. He was born on June 9, 1926 in Greenfield as the son of Russell L. and Naoma (Cooney) Johnson. Mr. Johnson received his Theology degree from Tennessee Temple Bible School. He served in the Air Force and Navy. Dick married Glowdean (Bow) on October 7, 1950, in Lewisville.
Dick is survived by his sons, Marcus Ray (Jacquelyn) Johnson, Brian Johnson and Trent Johnson; brother, Ron L. (Angie) Johnson; five grandchildren, 11 great-grand- children; four great-great-grandchildren; and very special family friend Donna Lisman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Naoma Johnson; wife, Glowdean Johnson; son, Tommy Johnson; daughter, Rhonda Kay Perkins; grandson, Allen Johnson; brothers, Russell L. Johnson, Jr., Robert L. Johnson; and sister, Leawana Carrico.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 23, 2017, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be on Friday, March 24, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield with full military rites.
