Ramona Charmaine (Edwards) Crye, 87, of Greenfield, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017, at her residence. She was born on October 3, 1929, in Spring Grove, Ins.
She graduated from Richmond High School and attended Earlham College. Charmaine married George A. Crye on December 21, 1956, in Richmond, Ind.
She was a loving mother and housewife. She was a past member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Richmond and a former member of Independent Order of Foresters. Charmaine enjoyed painting, gardening and spending quality time with her family.
Charmaine is survived by her sons, Kenton Crye of Lafayette, Ind. and Kyle (June) Crye of Greenfield; daughters, Rhonda (Bill) Horton and Rana (Don) Howard both of Greenfield; brother, Paul Lamarne (Frances) Edwards of Tonto Basin, Ariz.; uncle, Leonard Burkett of Greenville, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George A. Crye; parents, Rudy and Merle Herzog; son, Kevin Scott Crye; and sister, Sheila Diane Herzog.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 24, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 7 p.m. Reverend Alecia Grosswill be officiating. A private family burial will take place at Earlham Cemetery in Richmond, IN at a later date.
