HANCOCK COUNTY — Call it cookies for a cause; this Scout is on a mission.

Liz Brobst, a Girl Scout from Troop 198 in Indianapolis, seeks to donate 1,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to soldiers this year and hopes Hancock County residents can find it in their hearts to help during a local event this weekend.

The 11-year-old will set up shop to take donations at the Greenfield Gun Show, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, at the sheep barn at Hancock County Fairgrounds, 620 N. Apple St., Greenfield.

So far, she has collected 690 boxes to distribute to veterans at the West Lafayette Veterans Home, as well as deployed soldiers, but she still hopes to reach her goal.
