Wellness center creates program for seniors

MCCORDSVILLE — A new, free program for seniors is starting up at Hancock Wellness Center in McCordsville. Senior Social Wednesdays will create fun, informal gatherings from 10 to 11 a.m. every Wednesday, with regular themes throughout the month.

The first Wednesday of the month will be “Captivating Kids,” in which seniors will be paired up with Jungle Club kids; the second Wednesday will be “Sensational Speakers,” with Hancock County Senior Services program director Kit Paternoster stepping up to the plate in March; seniors will try low-impact exercises during “Make a Move” the third Wednesday of the month; and the fourth Wednesday will be themed “Fascinating Food Facts.”

All activities are planned for the first 15 to 20 minutes of the hour with the remaining time for casual conversation. Refreshments will be provided. For more information, contact Linda Garrity at 317-468-4383 or lgarrity@hancock regional.org. Hancock Wellness Center is located at 8505 N. Clearview Drive, McCordsville.
