Valita M. Lyday, 64, of Greenfield, passed away February 13, 2017. Valita was born in Indianapolis, on December 14, 1952, to LaVerne Hall and the Late Otto Teschendorf.

Valita was a member of the Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ. She was a registered nurse, earning her degree from IU School of Nursing in 1999. During her career she had worked at Community East, St. Francis South and Beech Grove Campuses, Miller’s Rehab, St. Vincent Rehab, and most recently at Advantage Home Health.

Valita was preceded in death by her husband, H. Jack Lyday; her infant sister, Eloise Teschendorf, and her sister, Alisa (Teschendorf) Brennan.

She is survived by children, Justin (Ashley) Henderson, and Melissa (Darl) Clark; her grandchildren, Dominic, Tyler, Alexis, Joshua, and Isabella; and her siblings, Harold, Charles, Charmaine, Mellanie, and Kevin Teschendorf, Tina Coffman, Benton, Mike, Terry, Jerry, Gary, and Joe Hall and Roxanna Teschendorf Allstead.

Friends may call from 11a.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday February 17, at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, where funeral services will immediately follow at 3 p.m. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery.
