Local artist watercolors on display at Greenfield Banking Co.

GREENFIELD — The watercolor artwork of Cathleen Huffman will be on display through the end of March in Greenfield Banking Company’s second-floor art gallery at 1920 N. State St. Huffman gained regional attention for her collection of Hoosier grain elevator paintings done over a 12-year period. Her work received Bicentennial Legacy Project status in 2016 as part of Indiana’s 200th year of statehood. The gallery will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Women’s recovery group sponsors trivia night fundraiser

GREENFIELD — Talitha Koum Women’s Recovery House will host a Trivia Night at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the Parish Life Center at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 515 Jefferson Blvd. Teams of three to eight people will participate in 10 rounds of 10-question trivia. Dinner and drinks are included in the $25 ticket price. Tickets are available at the door. This event supports the building of the recovery house.

Registration for Parks & Recreation Kid Kamp now open

GREENFIELD — Registration for the Greenfield Parks and Recreation’s summer Kid Kamp for kids age 6 to 12 is now open. Camp runs five days a week from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., May 30 through July 28 at the Riley Park Shelter House, 300 Apple St. Registration is limited to the first 75 applicants. A non-refundable $25 registration fee is due at sign-up; camp is $80 for city residents and $90 for non-residents. Local event raises money for LINK education programs

GREENFIELD — Sharpen your wits to participate in Trivia Night for Brighter Futures at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at NineStar Connect, 2243 E. Main St. Team registration for this event, sponsored by Leaders in Navigating Knowledge, is $120 for a team of six people. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. Rotary auction helps fund life-saving surgery for children

INDIANAPOLIS — The Greenfield Rotary Club’s annual Gift of Life auction kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Community Life Center, 10612 E. Washington St. Tickets are $50 and include a silent auction, dinner, a raffle and the live auction. Money raised from this event goes to help bring children to the United State for life-saving surgeries not available in their home countries. Visit the Children’s Museum for free on Presidents Day

INDIANAPOLIS — Enjoy free admission at the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, 3000 N. Meridian, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Presidents Day, Feb. 20. Exhibits such as Beyond Spaceship Earth, ScienceWorks, Dinosphere, Take Me There: China, the Power of Children and the chocolate slide are all included.

Online class helps travelers learn about planning a cruise vacation

GREENFIELD — Would-be travelers can now learn the ins and outs of cruise travel with an online class through Greenfield Parks and Recreation. Learn about differences in cruise lines, schedules and amenities, pre-planning, before and after travel, luggage dos and don’ts, on shore excursions and handling money. The class is available for 24 hours beginning at 8 a.m. Feb. 23. Register at greenfieldin.org. The class is $5 for city residents and $7 for non-residents.
