Dorothy Marie (Nelson) Van Duyn, 77, of Knightstown, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Sugar Creek following a long illness and now is with Jesus. She was born July 27, 1939, in Ogden the daughter of Alvie and Hazel (Montgomery) Roberts.
She had a generous spirit and enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Chris Nelson of Knightstown; grandchildren, Tori (Vince) Reilly and John Christopher Nelson both of Knightstown; siblings, Tom (Sharon) Roberts of Carthage, Donna Roberts of Carthage and Virginia Stearns of Knightstown; former daughter-in-law, Tammy Nelson of Knightstown.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her first husband, John W. Nelson; second husband, Larry Van Duyn; siblings, Margaret Roberts, June Roberts, Marjorie Clay and Rusty Roberts.
Visitation will be from 4to 8 p.m., Friday, February 17, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. The funeral will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 18, at the funeral home with David Bonne officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery beside a good friend, Loren Arnold.
