Henda Betty Pittman, 87, former New Castle resident residing in Greenfield, passed away Saturday February 11, 2017, at the Morristown Manor in Morristown, Ind. She was born July 7, 1929, in Diabock (Perry County), Ky., a daughter of the late James and Lillie Robertson Miller.
She was a New Castle resident most of her life, and moved to Greenfield in 1998. She attended Lewisville, Indiana schools. She loved family activities, dancing, gardening, automobile racing, boating, camping, traveling, and animals.
Mrs. Pittman had worked for R.C.A., Western Electric, Chrysler Corporation, and was retired from Allison Transmission Plant.
Left to cherish her loving memory include two daughters, Wendella Wallen (Ernest) of New Castle, Ind., Nannette Pickette (Mike) of Greenfield; three grandchildren, Shannon Wallen (Angie Catron) of New Castle, Travis Wallen (Fiance’, Tara Denny) of New Castle, Clint Gossage (Fiance’, Kelli Roop) of Mississippi; siblings, Jenny Easton of Greenfield, Soni Canterbury of South Carolina, Margaret Ingalls of Connersville, Ind.; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Wanda Hadley, Juanita McIntosh, Helen Denny and three infant brothers, Billy Ray Miller, Henry Miller, Charles Miller.
Friends and family may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday February 15, at Macer-Hall Funeral Home & Cremation Services in New Castle, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday February 15, at the funeral home with Chaplain Katherine Murray officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
