GREENFIELD — Greenfield Elks 1720 will open its lodge to any veteran from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday for its Stand Down 17 veterans outreach event.

Lodge leaders see a need in the area for veterans to have a facility to gather and have a home, said lodge president Mike Jack. Stand Down 17 will evolve and grow as the Veterans needs are identified, he said. Hancock County Veterans Service Officer, Bob Workman, will be available to assist and discuss veterans benefits.

The lodge is located at 820 S. State St. A light breakfast will be available.
