Shirley M. (Higdon) Pointer, 84, of Greenfield, died Friday, February 3, 2017, at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on September 29, 1932, as the daughter of James Clayton Higdon and Dollie Eunice (Holland) Higdon.
She is survived by her sons, Roy (Sue) Hausman of Alton, Ill. and Jerry (Tonya) Hausman of Beech Grove, Ind.; daughter, Stacie (Dean) Birch of New Palestine; sisters, Mary Lou Scharth of Alton, Ill.; and Donna Hull of East Alton, Ill.; and five grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Fred and Robert Higdon, and sister, Joyce Rother.
A private Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date.
