‘Rumors’ examines alternative facts

CARMEL – In an upper-middle class townhome, the Deputy Mayor of New York City has just sustained a bullet wound through the earlobe. His lawyer Ken and wife Chris, there to celebrate the 10th wedding anniversary of the mayor and his wife, are now confronted with “getting the story straight” before the other guests arrive. Confusion, miscommunication and layers of little white lies soon spin the evening quickly out of control. Neil Simon’s “Rumors” shows Feb. 3 through 18 at the Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre, 3 Center Green.
