Glenda (Hughes) Hagans, 77, of Greenfield, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017, at Springhurst Health Campus. She was born on March 22, 1939, in Harrisburg, Ill., as the daughter of Roy and Lydia (Dixon) Hughes.

She graduated from Trafalgar High School in 1957. Glenda married Jack Hagans on December 23, 1956, in Greenfield.

She worked for Indiana Bell & AT&T for 38 years and retired in 1995 as an administrative assistant. Glenda was a member of Bradley United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and played handbells. She was also a member of Pioneers of America. She loved gardening, doing ceramics and artwork.

Glenda is survived by her children, John (Rebecca) Hagans of Greenfield, Carol (Thomas) Wroblewski of Indianapolis and Jim (Tammy) Hagans of Greenfield; brother, Ronald (Nancy) Hughes of Palm Harbor, Fla.; two sisters, Jane King of Indianapolis and Ruth Ann (Jim) Baldwin of Nashville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Carrie Jo Hagans, Sarah Louise Hagans, Joshua Hagans, Jarrett Hagans and James Hagans, Jr.; two great-grandchildren, John Michael Keller and Annabel Hagans.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lydia Hagans; husband, Jack Hagans; and brother, Randall Hughes.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, at Springhurst Health Campus in the Activities Room, 628 N Meridian Rd, Greenfield, IN 46140.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the WFYI Channel 20 Public TV, 1630 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46202-1429.
