Gary D. Kirkwood, 65, of Syracuse, Ind., formerly of Greenfield, died Thursday, January 26, 2017, at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, Ind. He was born on December 31, 1951, in Greenfield, to Millard Stephen and Maidee Walton (Pettus) Kirkwood.
He is survived by his companion, Connie Akers of Syracuse; son, Gary Steven “Bub” Kirkwood of Osceola; daughter, Rebecca “Becki” (James) Coplin of Albion; three stepdaughters, Tara (Denny) Blosser of Springtown, Tx., Tammy (Jeff) Yohe of South Bend, and Tasha (Chris Sabin) Blankenship of Cromwell; stepson, Travis (Kaelin) Clark of Lafayette, Ind.; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Clark of Coal City, Ind.; two brothers, Richard (Bonnie Lee) Kirkwood of North Manchester and Terry (Denise) Kirkwood of Howe, IN=nd.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Frances LaVern Flynn, and brother, Jimmy Millard Kirkwood.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to Noon on Saturday February 4, at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 and CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Memorial services will follow at Noon on Saturday, February 4, in the funeral home with Pastor Tim Morbitzor officiating. Private family burial will take place at the McClintic Cemetery in Syracuse.
