HANCOCK COUNTY — Hancock Area Rural Transit recently completed its comprehensive four-year compliance review with the Indiana Department of Transportation with complete success, according to a press release.

The transportation service, which operates under Hancock County Senior Services, had zero non-compliance findings, making it only the second transportation system in the state to perform so well, said senior services director Linda Hart.

“We believe both the administrative and operating staff at Hancock County Senior Services should be commended,” wrote Todd Jennings, program manager at the INDOT Office of Transit. “We … extend our congratulations to their organization (and) communicate our great appreciation for all of the hard work and dedication they continue to place into making Hancock Area Rural Transit one of our premier public transit programs in the state of Indiana.”

Hancock Area Rural Transit provides non-emergency transportation to anyone in Hancock County. Reservations are accepted 7 a.m. Monday through Friday. For more information or to schedule a trip, call 317-462-1103.
