Paul Lee Owens, 94 of New Palestine, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born on August 3, 1922, in Lynnville, Ind. to Alvie and Mable Owens.

He has lived in New Palestine for the past 35 years with his loving wife of 65 years Susie C. (Copeland) Owens.

Paul was a graduate of Purdue University, Class of 1950 and retired in 1989 after working 37 years for the Indiana State Highway Department. After his retirement Paul spent many years serving in the New Palestine School Corporation in various capacities. Paul served in WWII and the Korean Conflict in the Army Air Force. He was a life-long member of the American Legion and was a current member of Post 182.

Paul was a dedicated member of Community Christian Church of New Palestine. Paul had a passion for gardening, photography, his family, and all things Purdue.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susie C (Copeland) Owens; and his children, Pamela (Tom) Dimos, Sandra (Bill) Price, Ashley (Rob) Cure, Anthony (Chelsea) Owens, and Adam (Kim) Owens; two grandchildren, Elizabeth (Andrew) Whittaker and Nicholas Dimos; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Harold Owens, William (Dorothy) Owens, Lawrence Owens, and Vernon J. (Doris) Owens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom (Shannon) Owens, Ray Owens; and his sister, Gen (Joe) Duncan.

The Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., February 18, at Community Christian Church, 3123 South 500 West, New Palestine, IN.
