Mt. Vernon track, pool available to public
The indoor track at Mt. Vernon High School is now available for public use Monday through Thursday from 5:30 to 8 p.m., when there are no home games using the main gym.
The community can find details at mvcsc.k12.in.us under the “Community” tab. The upstairs walking track is located in the Auxiliary Gym at Mt. Vernon High School, 8112 N. 200 W., Fortville.
Entry is through Door 17 by the main gym. Upon entry turn right at the first hallway and right again at the next hallway. The auxiliary gym doors are on the left.
The pool also is available for adult swim sessions on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 6 to 7:30 a.m., except when school is closed or not in session. Adults are $3 per session. Locker rooms and showers are available in the pool area.

Greenfield Soccer Club registration open
Those interested in joining the Greenfield Area Soccer Club can register today. Spring soccer registration is open online at greenfieldsoccer.org.
Walk-in registrations also will be conducted on Feb. 11 at the Hancock County Public Library (900 W. McKenzie Road in Greenfield) from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 to 5 p.m. at Dick’s Sporting Goods (10202 E. Washington Street in Indianapolis).

Forty-point scorers earn weekly honors
A trio of 40-point scorers headline the honorees in this week’s IBCA Player of the Week program.
East Central senior Brady Ewing, McCutcheon junior Robert Phinisee and Homestead senior Karissa McLaughlin all scored 40 or more points in a game during the week of Jan. 16 to 21.
They along with South Bend Riley junior Damezi Anderson, Terre Haute South senior Jaylen Minnett, Zionsville senior Rachel McLimore and Evansville Bosse junior Jaelah Crosby have been chosen as recipients in the recognition program coordinated by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.
