Margaret Clarene Martz, 93, of Greenfield, passed away January 17, 2017. She was born in Zeigler, Ill., the daughter of John Foster and Margaret (Readhead) King.
She graduated from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis and was a nurse at Methodist and Hancock Memorial Hospitals, and many years at Wishard Hospital until her retirement in 1985. She was a nurse at Tendercare Home Health and retired again at age 88. She was an active member at Warren Baptist Church. She was a volunteer, teacher and camp nurse for more than 50 years at Wheeler Mission and was active at Neighborhood Fellowship. She was a supporter of Wycliffe Bible Translators and The Gideons International.
Surviving are her children, Richard Martz (Sonja), Barbara Martz, Mary Martz and Kay Collier; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, January 20, at Warren Baptist Church, 9501 E. 21 st St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.
