James L. Bailey, 81, of Greenfield, died on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born on August 7, 1935, in Belknap, Ky., as the son of Scott Lee and Maxine (Rudd) Bailey.
James is survived by his son, Corey J. Bailey of Greenfield; daughter, Sherry L. (Greg) Stamm of Greenfield; sister, Mildred Beaty of Bargersville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Bailey; parents, Scott and Maxine Bailey; and two brothers, Phillip Bailey and Milford Bailey.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, at the mortuary. Rev. Ed Byrd will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
